And sometimes my searches can be somehow successful. At the same time, being a biker, I’m paying some attention to motorcycle clothing. So, this is the thing I found in one of New York second-hand shops. I wonder how this jacket got there, because a person should be REALLY HARD UP to sell such a masterpiece. So, I was lucky enough to get it at the price of $50 only! Much better than any motorcycle clothing jacket offered at usual stores! It is almost new and fits me perfect. By the way, this is a replica of A2 Flight Jacket, which was first introduced by Schott Company in 1931 and was worn by the pilots and engineers of US Air Corps (the 8th, 9th, 12th and 15th divisions flying P-38,P-47, P-51 Fighters and also B-17 and B-24 bombers) until the end of World War II.

The history of A2 Jacket
The most exciting and interesting thing about it is its inside. Just take a look at it. The map of Europe was sewn into the lining of the jacket by one of the pilots, whose plane got shot down during a war operation in Europe in 1944. And with the use of this map he managed to escape from enemy’s troops and get to the place, where the allied army was situated. At this rate, beginning from that time the jacket has been manufactured with the escape map sewn into the lining.

To buy or not to buy?
Although it is not a classic motorcycle jacket, it suits right for the appearance of a biker. But it depends on the style you like to dress in. Being a fan of military stuff I can say, that this jacket is right the thing I need – not glamorous or full of useless pathos but just simple and high-quality. At the same time it is original and has its special points. Taking into consideration, that I bought almost new thing at a trifle, it is just perfect replacement for an ordinary motorcycle clothing jacket. And even if you decide to purchase a new one at the price of about $450, you will be really glad. I think it is worth th money it costs.
